Friday Lovelies.

POSTED BY Amanda

This is 100% inspired from my top secret love-of-my-life obsession right now, to be shared at a later date.

BUT, how fun are these?

Can you say mid-century modern with a fresh twist?? I call it INSPIRATION!

Have a wonderful weekend my readers! I’m off to a double-header wedding weekend and I am so so SO thrilled for my brides. Lots in store in the coming weeks.

Remember to kiss when they clink the glasses [wedding or not]!

World’s Best Evite

POSTED BY Alicia

Ok, this is why I love my brides and grooms so much. I got this email the other day that was an Evite invitation to one of my couple’s rehearsal dinners. And what do you expect when you think you are going to look at an invitation to anything wedding related? Nice, sweet, lovey dovey, kissy kissy, mushy gushy right?

So I literally laughed out loud when I clicked on the link to the Evite and saw this picture of Annie & Ben come up…

Annie Ben Evite

This is so indicative of their personalities as a couple. So totally laid back, go with the flow, have a good time. Totally fitting to feature a picture with an impromptu headlock for your fiance, rather than some formal kissy face picture. I absolutely love it!! Makes me look forward to their big day even more! Which by the way, is RIGHT around the corner. So stay tuned for a sneak peak of their day soon!

We Made The Mag!

POSTED BY Amanda

SO cute! Brit and I are in one of the crowd shots on Page 5 of the new issue of Utterly Engaged!! It’s a feature on their grand opening party and boy was it fun!

I’m in the bright yellow sweater and Brit is chatting away with me [I’ll bet Alicia is in there, too, behind a few heads].

SO I’ve been really terrible about taking pictures at weddings lately but I did snag a few from this Saturday. This wedding is the new hotness. I loved every moment of it. For you to see:

I cannot WAIT to see pretty pretty pictures of this wedding. A fab list of vendors accompanied me this past weekend and once the images come in, I will brag on and on about them.

Pro Pics: Shelley & Tony

POSTED BY Alicia

Boy are you all in for a treat today! I have been DYING to share these images with you guys. They are drop dead, hold on to your nickers Ga-orgeous! I knew when I saw the work of Amy & Maurice, aka The Theorie, on their website that they did amazing work, but it’s still always a “hold your breath” kind of moment until you finally see the finished product of all the pictures that they shot on your day. And wow, were these so much better than I was ever expecting! Simply amazing! A perfect capture of Shelley & Tony and all of their special little details on their wedding day.

The wedding was held at a private estate in Trabuco Canyon, compliments of the bride’s Uncle.
He built this bridge just for them, since the prvious one had been washed away by a storm.

The flowers were all provided by the amazing Carissa of JL Designs.

I mean come on, anyone who can make a box of boutonnieres look THAT good, has got to be a great florist, right??

The ceremony featured hanging vases filled with pink roses & peonies, and pink petals covering the aisle floor.

We added yellow ties around each chair, for a nice big POP of color!

The grounds of this home had an endless supply of amazing photo opportunities. It was such a perfect setting.

Shelley’s Uncle has a collection of classic cars that he has donated to Auto Museums over the years. Lucky for us, they are all so grateful for the donations, that they let him take them out whenever he wants for his person use. Score for us!! These bad boys make for great pictures!

The cocktail hour featured small square vases wrapped in a funky mod fabric that we found in the L.A. Fabric District, and single pink peonies in each one.

We made use of the beautiful oak tree in the middle of our cocktail hour space, by hanging varying sizes of white paper lanterns throughout the entire tree.

A couple more shots of Carissa’s beautiful creations…

I absolutely adored these vases that Carissa provided for the place card table.

Big puffy peonies just make me swoon…

And on to the reception details!

I loved how Carissa made it seem like these tulips were growing out of the cake stand. So amazing.

35

The guest tables featured small groups of pink tulips, arranged in lot of different funky white vases provided by Carissa.

I couldn’t decide which ring shot I liked the most, so I just included them both. ;)

Shelley hand crafted these super cute cootie-catchers that served as their menus. They were absolutely adorable.

And last, but not least, the scrumptious cookie buffet that replaced the cake later that night.

So Pretty!

POSTED BY Amanda

Our “Eye Candy” feature got listed up on the Wedding Chicks today. I LOVE those darn chicks! They’re so complimentary- in response to my pictures, I received this email from Amy Squires [one half of the chicks]:

“beautiful!!! were those for a magazine? i cried a little at how AWESOME everything was!”

[insert my heart DROPPING to the floor because of her utter kindness]. Um, can I just say that I’m beyond flattered that ANYONE would react like that. Let alone a vendor. Let alone a vendor I admire. Let alone a vendor that runs an incredible blog full of design, decor, and inspirations!!! Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes.

Some screen shots.

To top it off, the girls even TWEETED about it this morning! Or, is it twitted? Either way, they did. If you don’t follow ’em yet, DO! So many perks to doing so. :) And to actually see ALL of my collages that I included in my “Eye Candy” feature, click HERE! So gorgeous- all 14 tables made the cut!

Hope your day is colorful… God knows, you color MY world!

Ummmm so this is my super ridiculously cute couple for this weekend. They are SO. SO. fun. Alysia [pronounce: Alicia] and Duong [pronounce: Young] were straight referrals from another fave-tastic couple of mine last year, so I knew instantly that it’d be kismet when we gabbed on and on at coffee a year ago! Their wedding is set to be terribly stylish and I am honored to be a part of it! Some delicious pictures [that I, ahem, had to HUNT DOWN MYSELF- ALYSIA!!!!] from their oh-so-talented photog, Hung Tran, who I’ve yet to meet [which I always kinda love]:

1

in LOVE with this shot. So “Sound Of Music”…

These next two are KILLIN’ me with how amazing the angles are!

5

6

Ugh, right? UGH! They are so gorgeous.

7

FAVE! I just loooove their faces!

8

And, one for the road…

9

Things I’m looking forward to with their 7/25 nuptials:

1. Orange and Eggplant together at last [with modern pops of white and fruitwood to boot]
2. Working with a PAINFULLY fabulous florist who I want to pee my pants about
3. 9 courses [or is it 10?] of traditional Chinese cuisine
4. Ice Cream Cupcakes. We found ’em. We’re working ’em. I’m thrilled.

A&D: THIS Week!!! oooooohmygoodness this WEEEK! I can’t wait!

Did You Know?

POSTED BY Amanda

A bit of info for you [to all who email me]: did you know that I actually physically TYPE OUT my “xoxo” on each email? Yes, the rest of the info at the bottom is part of my standard “signature” [from A. Auer and on] but the “xoxo” I type into each message. I do this on purpose- I think about it, take it personally, and make it a point to reflect my love onto my emails whenever I get the chance.

I hope you feel it, too! What’s a quirky habit of yours that you CHOOSE, instead of sticking with something standard [aka, the easy way]?? Would love to know!

xoxo,

A.
