Kellee and Nick!

POSTED BY Amanda

Okay so I don’t have much to show for my weddings as of late-they’ve been busy and hot and with my computer crashing I lost a LOT of my own images anyway. I snapped this yesterday from my iPhone at Kellee and Nick’s nuptials [tying the knot at Wayfarer's Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes]:

photo

Highlights from the ceremony:
-Kellee pulling a tissue from her cleavage mid-ceremony and the slight chuckle rising from the crowd
-Kelle trying to put Nick’s ring on the wrong finger and him turning to the crowd saying “It’s her first time!” [and of course, everyone erupting into laughter]
-The KISS of course!

It was SUCH a wonderfully delicious day! As the rest of the world was overheating, we had perfect weather at the groom’s family’s home on the coast in Long Beach. Ocean breeze, amazing views, and love and happiness abounding. I can’t wait for pictures!

The whole industry is buzzing about Leila Khalil and her amazing PR Firm geared towards wedding pros. They’re hip. They’re fresh. They’re IT. They’re basically the bee’s knees. They’re literally everywhere you want to be. So, when she started her Blog, I was instantly hooked.

Then, when I was featured I was MORE than honored.

Check out the killer wedding of Karri and Doug right here. Wow, wow, wow.

I am thrilled to say the least!!

Now, I am gonna TRY and get you all a Friday Lovelies post up today as well, but I’m actually working a wedding today for the wonderfully funtastic Kellee and Nick so it just may not happen.

If you DON’T hear from me… know that I carry you in my heart.

Who could resist? I’ll be honest right now… I went straight over to Green Wedding Shoes because I KNEW how lovely they’d be. They constantly are, and the past few weeks EVERY. SINGLE. POST. they put out has been nothing short of a show stopper to me! SO, this comes straight from Jen, right here!

Thanks to Mark Brooke Photographers for shooting this exceptional wedding in such an exceptional manner. I love totally LOVE this couple and their funky style. And what could get me and the gals more pumped to work at The Smog Shoppe later this year than a gorgeous portrait filled with fun and fantastic in the background? Fantastic IS a noun, right? If not, it should be.

Happy Friday, you lovelies!

Quick Peek.

POSTED BY Amanda

Doing some simple flowers for an outdoor summer wedding today. So. Fun. Bonus that it’s so near the ocean! Here’s a very quick sneak peek little snippet or two of the gorgeousness that IS the yellow pallet…

7bx-1

Mini callas, carnations, roses, button mums and tulips were used for these small flat accent arrangements.

Excuse the fact that they were taken with my iPhone. The glass is clear and then we used blue crushed glass at the bottom of the vases for accent [to tie in the blue] and also to root our stems down into. So gorge.

Off to the wedding… will report back more once it’s Monday.

Have a FABUSunday!

Paula Luna twittered this last night. Thank God for photographic artists like Luna Photo. Light, airy, artistic, journalistic… a moment captured in time- and framable to boot!

sdsw-lunaphotoblog

Seriously- images like this, minds like hers… they have changed the face of wedding photography! I cannot even remember the days of the cheesy posed images with obnoxious backdrops and standard flash photos. And aren’t we all thankful for that, really? So into it!

Loving my plans for this weekend! I hope that your weekend plans are full of kisses and hugs and lovey dovey stuff. If it’s not yet… MAKE IT THAT WAY! It’s all up to you- choose to be the person you want to be.

:D

Utterly Engaging.

POSTED BY Amanda

Last week, Leashy, Britt and I headed out to the launch party celebrating the e-zine Utterly Engaged. We had a TON of fun hanging out [and for me, avoiding meeting new people and spending time being a lovely wall ornament... but still!]!

The pictures just came in from Ellsworth Photography [aka "EP Love", which I LOVE] from their photo booth set up at the party. Soooo fun!

Picture 5

Alicia REALLY wanted to use props. B and I… notsomuch.

And our not-so-true feelings:

Picture 6

Us girls with friends Carissa @ JL Designs and Jesi @ Jesi Haack Weddings…. they’re just simple FAB.

Had to jazz-hand-it-up… and don’t you know it!

And of course with our dashing fave photog [the same one that did our headshots] Brian Khang!

Picture 7

Sorry ladies, he IS taken! [And not just by us]…

Picture 8

We really had such a fun time- I tend to avoid “networking” events because I’m not so great at selling myself or shoving forward and upward in the industry- I’m just ME! But this was so fun… it’s amazing to watch myself grow and shift into a comfortable force in this field. Totally into it. Many more to come, laughs and memories with new friends and familiar faces, too!!

I’m headed to downtown LA in the morning to pick up some sunshine yellow flowers for this weekend’s wedding… I cannot tell you how EXCITED I am to see how it all turns out! Until next time…

Newly-Weds: Angie & Rob!

POSTED BY Alicia

Alicia

Ok, so this post is going to be light on the details shots. The day was hectic, hectic, hectic! So I didn’t have a ton of time to take pics AND I forgot to grab it before heading over to Calafia Park for the ceremony. Total sad face, I know. So you will all just have to use your imaginations for that part. Think beautiful ocean views on top of grandeur sea cliffs, a stunning white arch, dripping in flowers, and white folding chairs, adorned with lilac satin ties and rhinestone buckles. Swoon…I know. You can tar me later for not getting any pictures.

So on that note, lets skip forward to the few detail shots that I DID get at the reception. It was held at The Historic Cottage in San Clemente, one of my favorite little diamonds in the ruff.
Angie & Rob 01
Their beautiful centerpieces in pink, white, & lilac.

Angie & Rob 02
We brought in some lounge furniture to place in front of the cozy fireplace that the cottage has, so their guests could have a great place to relax once dinner was done and the dancing began.

There are those satin sashes with rhinestone buckles I was talking about earlier. Courtesy of Dress My Chair.

The roman arches from the ceremony were brought over and placed behind the head table, and looked so great framing Angie & Rob.

Angie & Rob decided to offer their guests some of their favorite candies as a treat. I love when couples take something like a candy buffet that has become pretty common lately, and personalize it like this. Who cares if they’re not all color coated in pink or red or blue? They’re all DELICIOUS! And Angie & Rob love them, so it makes the guests feel that much closer to them as they’re grabbing a hand full to stuff their faces.

And finally the beautiful couple! Sharing their first dance as husband and wife. It was so so sweet to see the way these two look at each other.

A wedding at The Cottage isn’t complete without adorable throw pillows for the perma-bench that was built into the grounds there. It’s such a fun space for guests to take a load off when there gams are gettin tired from shakin their tail feathers. Yes I said it…shakin tail feathers…that saying is so coming back. Just watch!

Followed by a Mother/Son dance.

Love her face right here. :)

Angie & Rob 29
Now THIS is how you get ready to throw the garter! Check out that arc!

Angie & Rob 30
And I love that his guys really went for it. Most men at weddings tend to do the whole “I’m too cool to catch a garter” thing, but these guys were awesome sports! Even if you don’t want to get married anytime soon guys, don’t you at least want to win the “competition” of who can catch the flying object being hurled at your face first? :)
Angie & Rob 31
And then a final shot before the sun went down. Angie and her family and friends out on the dance floor, showing us a glimmer of what the rest of the night was like. Dancing, partying, love, and fun.

All in all it was an amazing evening. And mostly because it was an amazing couple. You can always tell how intense a couple is about each other from the way that they look at one another. With these two you could just see it, you know what I’m talking about, that it, that special something, that they share with one another even through a quick stolen glance from across the room. Like no one else exists and everything will be right with the world as long as they’re together. It’s that kind of love that makes me do what I do every day. Makes me smile at night, and makes me crawl on my hands and knees on wet grass in pitch black to try and find the missing satin napkin without a complaint, because it all means that I got to be a part of the day that joined this kind of love together forever. Angie & Rob, so much love and luck to you guys. I know you two are going to be so happy in your lives together. Always remember to love, laugh, and enjoy each other. XOXOXO!!!!
