Shannon is like that beloved friend that you never get to see- she’s that good.

okay sooo… Shannon didn’t make it down for the last round of head shots. We whined, complained, and stomped our feet before we got over it. Then we decided to photoshop her straight into the background. Still it doesn’t make up for it- we miss this gorgeous face!!
Being our other half of the team’s graphics department, Shannon’s creativity knows no bounds. She’s created suites that range from “country chic” on wood to “simple 70’s” on paper to “Indian-inspired” designs. Her spunk and vitality are such a fun addition to the team. Although she designs from afar [okay, not so far- just Bakersfield], she’s a highly coveted and fondly thought of part of our little In The Now dream team. She’s dependable, great on a time schedule, and incredibly efficient with inspiration [something quite difficult for us creative types]! We’ll keep her on as long as she’ll have us- with a smile in our hearts as big as the grand canyon!
Things you may want to know about her:
She started her graphic design career making band posters for concerts small and large [growing up in that industry is something her and I have in common]!
She’s known for her wild, unruly mane of red hair [a Shannon signature, that she wore even on her wedding day].
She’s a sucker for a cute, tiny kitten [namely the one she shares with her husband- Augustus!].
Her personal aesthetic is rooted deeply in eclectic vintage – and it seeps into her style and sass as well.
She is so expressive via email, it’s almost like you’re sitting with her face to face [which makes missing her so much less intense because of the time we spend together, even just cyber-speaking].
Why you’ll love working with her:
Her ideas are explosive. 9 times of out 10, she’ll nail your vision in the first round of design comps. She actually listens to her clients [and, well, us too!] when they give comments about themselves, their desires, and their personal style. Her designs are inventive and totally gorgeous- and she never goes far enough out on a limb to forget that it’s still a wedding invitation. She mixes a healthy dose of class into her creativity, and does so with a prompt turnaround time and great open lines for communicating. We love putting her in touch with our clients because we know her excitement for her work will only in turn lead them to be excited about her work, too! A true fountain of creative prowess, her designs never cease to amaze me [whether I give her just a quick word snippit of what I'm thinking on for a shoot, or an inspirational image/style in photo form]. She’s been knocking people’s socks off for years now, and it’s only the beginning of her long-standing career in this amazing industry. We’re thrilled she’s known as a part of our dynamic team!
Chances are, you’ve seen her work already plastered all over the internet [like those sweet screen-printed wood invitations we've been yapping about lately]. She’s one of the reasons that we get inquiries from coast to coast, and we are constantly singing her praises to personal friends and colleagues alike. Her designs have truly shaped our wedding aesthetics from beginning to end- and have acted as a source of inspiration for the entire event. She’s the diving board- the jumping off point- the first impression your guests will get and the last one they’ll leave with. Graphics can play such a large roll in the styling of your event, and having a strong designer in tow is the crucial way to bring it all together!
Shannon- you my dear, are exceptional at what you do. You’ve taken my vision for the paper/art graphics at this company and morphed it into a whole new chapter for me to share [with you], explore [because of you] and expand [to you- and more]. I am so deeply wealthy because of you… not in riches understood by the world’s standards, but in riches of my heart. Your work has graced so many of our weddings in the past few years that I know it’s YOU who I have to thank for the opportunities afforded to In The Now. You are truly a turning point for us- and continue to push my creative limits and inspirations just simply by providing me with your beauty from the edges of the 15″ computer screen. You’re a delight, and I treasure your place in this company!
xoxo,
